About Simon Edery
Simon Edery (1952-2005)
The late Simon Edery passed away in 2005, leaving behind a large and unique collection of paintings and artworks.
Simon was born in Morocco and studied at the Beaux Arts Academy (1) in Paris. During his life, Shimon exhibited in exhibitions in Israel and abroad and won various awards for his works. Painting was his whole life, so he gave up family life and children. His works focused on biblical stories, emphasizing traditional Jewish elements. These motifs were painted over the years in oil paintings on canvas. It can also be seen that he incorporated a variety of unique techniques in his paintings.
Background on his life
Simon Edery was born in Morocco on April 7, 1952. He immigrated to France with his parents in 1954. Simon immigrated to Israel from France in 1985, at the age of 33. He studied art at the "Bousard Paris High School of Art".
Simon Edery died of cardiac arrest on March 14, 2005.

Work topics and techniques
Childhood, love, old age, and since his immigration to Israel, also motifs from the Bible. Creative techniques Oil paints on canvas or wood, pastels, charcoal and pencil. In some of the paintings, Shimon Edri used a phosphorescent material combined with oil paints. The artist developed this technique over five years, until he reached complete perfection.
